About
Infinite War is currently intended as one of the ‘Themes’ (quick example settings) for Graham Spearing’s Wordplay RPG. Here’s the quick synopsis I sent to Graham:
Infinite War
Welcome to the Big Time solider.
You are one of the soldiers for the Crusade fighting for control of Human Time itself. Your masters are shadowy, their motives vague, butyou are dedicated to their cause because somehow you think it will save mankind and by extension your fractured self.
You have mastery of your ‘Potential Circuit’, which circulates energy through the ‘three-bodies’ of Mind,Body and Spirit allowing you to tap into powers the unenlightened know as magick, psionics or martial arts.
You and your fellow soldiers come from all time periods of human existence. From the distant past of stone age man, to the far future were human kind has been genetically altered beyond all recognition.
You fight all across history, trying to maintain stability and reduce paradox. When you are done you return to the relative sanity of the City of Shift, a neutral place outside time, for a little R&R and to swap war stories with your comrades.
You fight the terror of the Entropy Jihad, which seeks to return to the Source and start again from a blank state killing trillions in the process.
Genre: Reality bending, multi-dimensional, time travelling adventure.
Influences: Fritz Leiber’s ‘The Big Time’, Robert Anton Wilson’s ‘Schrodinger’s Cat’ and Micheal Moorcock’s ‘Jerry CorneliusĀ Quintet’ and ‘Dancers at the End of Time’ stories.
